'Al' Four Seasons: Spring

Description

Here’s the Spring one out of my series of “Al” Four Seasons.

Spring.
One small bluebird chirped at Winry’s window sill. She didn’t think anything of it until she saw a nest that had fallen from the roof of her house onto the ground below.
Now, that’s nowhere to keep a nest, she thought to herself.
She ran outside and picked up the nest when she noticed Al and Ed practicing their fighting skills on one another.
“Hey Winry!” Al shouted and waved.
She nodded and the bluebird flew down to sit on her shoulder.
“Aw, isn’t that cute?” Ed paused from fighting. “There’s a bluebird on her shoulder.”
“Heh heh,” Al chuckled.
But Winry just looked so sad.
Ed came over to comfort her. “Are you ok?”
“No. This nest was on the roof of my house and I think the wind pushed it to the ground and all the eggs are now broken.”
“Well, Winry,” Ed consoled. “They were only eggs. They weren’t even birds yet…so, no harm done.”
The bird on her should drooped down with depression.
“ED!” she piped. “How could you say that?! Those were her babies!”
Al, feeling sympathy, told her, “I would help you bring them back, Winry, but alchemy won’t let you bring things back to life…you know what happens.”
Then, Ed got an idea. “You can’t bring things back to life, but you can help!” Ed said.
Slamming his hands together, light surrounded Al and suddenly he stood on a pole in the ground. “You can help this family start all over again.”
Then, Winry got the big picture as the father bird flew down from the sky with pieces of grass in his beak; he placed them in the hole of their new spring home.

“Me and my big mouth,” Al mumbled.
